My attempt at a tribute to the memory of September 11, 2001 is this:

Thank you.  Thank you for being part of my life. I am very glad and grateful that I have known you.  I am very glad and grateful, on this day, to be alive and to have people like you also living.

Thoughts of those who died on September 11, 2001 bring deep sorrow, but also remind me that we continue.  I  see our continuance as an act of defiance against not only the murderous ones who stalk the Earth, but against all of the destructive forces in the world. Many brave and innocent souls perished on September Eleventh, but we are brave and innocent and we continue still.

Blessed and yet burdened too, that is us.  That is the U.S.; greatest nation on Earth.   So my hope, my wish and my prayer is that you continue and that your pursuit of happiness be a success and a victory. Without you this country would be less. Without you my life would be less.

Thank you, thank you,
Jack R. Noel
