Another memorable time, is when Sarah broke her leg…   not just broke her leg, but had broken it in 4 places, one of which, if I'm not mistaken was a "compound fracture" meaning the bone exited the skin.  She never did things in a way that wasn't  noticed.

Dad had taken us to Wisconsin to ski…

That night, I had to be about (5-6), I positioned myself very close to her, and said, "I'm sorry you are in pain."  Tears entering my eyes, empathetically feeling her pain, and she, without even a glance, basically told me to _______ off.

Sarah was very thin.  Boyish in build.  I remember milkshakes being made before bed for her so that she would have enough fuel to ward off whatever next upcoming difficulty was to come her way.  This was always a major concern.

If you could call it an illness, the only one I ever had was spilling milk at the dinner table…. I got nervous, and inevitably spilled my milk.  I didn't know it then, but this worked well as a diversion.

To say that I was a clumsy child would again, be an understatement.   A major rule of algebra states, " The quickest way from  point A  to B  is a straight line."

I adhered to this steadfastly….even if it meant dropping several feet to continue on my destination.  Distinguishing between bruises and dirt was mighty job.  And, one left to my dad.

 I loved bath time..

It was there that he gently bubbled, wiped and, connected with me without saying a word.  To this day, a bath is still  my preference.
