A Pope and a Lawyer

A pope arrived at the gate of heaven.  St. Peter welcomed

him and said, "Just put your luggage down and sit here on this

bench.  A bus comes every 15 minutes and will take you to the

subway station.  The subways run every 20 minutes and you can get

off three stops after God's palace.  Your apartment will be just

a short walk from there."

The pope thanked St. Peter, sat downand waited.  A few minutes later,

someone else arrived.  St.Peter embraced him and exclaimed, "Dear friend,

how wonderful to see you here!  Come get into this limousine, it will take you

directly to a penthouse overlooking God's palace."

The pope stood up and asked St. Peter, "How come this man get's a much

better treatment than me?"

St. Peter answered, "Oh, you know, we already have 400 popes up here,

but this is only our second lawyer!"
